About

I'm Michael O'Connor, an Irish painter living in Oeiras, on the coast near Lisbon, since 2020.

I paint small pictures in oil, gouache and watercolour: parks and seafronts around Lisbon, streets and places from home in Dublin, and quiet still lifes of things on my table. Most are painted from life, often in a single sitting, fitted around work and family.

Working small keeps things direct. Each painting is a record of one moment of looking, and I'd like it to live on someone's wall rather than in a drawer.

Every painting is an original, signed and dated, and sent unframed, flat and well protected.
